Suggested Use: This product was formulated for ages 4+ Shake gently before use. Once daily, take it directly by mouth. Use the following dosage chart to assess dosage or dose as recommended by physician or healthcare professional:

 

Suggested Dosage:

  • 4-13 years: 15 Drops (0.3 mL)
  • 14+ years: 45 Drops (1 mL)

Please avoid direct dropper contact to the skin or mouth in order to prevent product contamination and damage to the dropper.

Why is there no daily value for Vitamin K on the supplement fact panel?

Due to changes implemented by the FDA, which now excludes K2 (menaquinones) are being counted toward the daily value of vitamin K, we no longer include daily values on our label for vitamin K2. Nevertheless, K2 (MK7) remains important for bone and heart health.

How do I know what an appropriate dose is when there are no recommended daily values?

Having no FDA recommendations for daily intake can make it hard to know what an appropriate dose might be! Though suggestions for intake vary, it has been shown that K2 MK-7 has greater bioavailability than other forms of Vitamin K, higher doses support bone health, and toxicity poses little risk. Ultimately, in order to make the best health decisions possible for you and your family, we recommend speaking with your physician or healthcare professional to determine what dose is best.

Can these K2 drops be used in place of the newborn Vitamin K shot?

To clarify, MaryRuth's Vitamin K2 is a plant-based, bioactive form of MK7, which is different from the Vitamin K injection shot offered at the hospitals in the US, typically 0.5–1 mg of vitamin K1 administered shortly after birth. If you are still interested in giving our K2 (MK7) to your child(ren), we would suggest you see your physician, pediatrician or healthcare professional and have them assist you in determining if the product is suitable for your child(ren). If it is, ask your healthcare professional to assess what the accurate dosage would be for your child. Each child is unique and different, and we want to make sure that they receive the best care possible!
