How to take

Suggested Use: Shake well before using. Adults take 2 tablespoons once daily. Take in the morning either with food, juice or on an empty stomach.

  • 4-10 Years: 1/4 oz or 1/2 Tablespoon (7.4 mL)
  • 11-17 Years: 1/2 oz or 1 Tablespoon (14.8 mL)

5 year old had scary allergic reaction, new formula?

We have been giving the liquid multivitamins to our son since he was 2, so 3 years now. We usually get the strawberry flavor, but Thrive Market had a sale on the fruit punch so we went ahead and got it. My son said the flavor was fine, although consistency looked a little different. Where my concern comes in is when about 15 minutes after drinking 1T, he said he was itchy. I looked over at him and he was covered in what looked like a sunburn! My son has 0 allergies that we know of. It was very scary because I wasn’t sure if the reaction was going to intensify and affect his throat or breathing (like anaphylactic-type reaction)! We waited for a few minutes and kept asking if his throat felt funny and watched to see if his breathing changed. Thankfully it didn’t worsen at all, we gave him some activated charcoal right away, and had him drink a bunch of water as well. We have loved Mary Ruth’s for years now, but this was extremely disheartening to see our poor kiddo have a reaction like this. I noticed some other reviewers mention “change in formula” which was my thought as well. Sadly this isn’t going to be something we will take a risk with giving our son again, so we will have to look for a new brand of vitamins going forward.

Not a fan of the new formula

I’ve been taking the fruit punch for a long while and loved the flavor and consistency. However, my newest subscribe bottle is a new formula and changes were made that affected the consistency, color and flavor. Changes to types of vitamins used were made too. I’m extremely disappointed. Its awful now. I won’t be getting it any longer and now have to find another liquid multi I’ll like. :( (for pic with review - left is new, right is old)

Why is there no more plastic measuring cup included?

Though we’ve historically included a plastic measuring cup with our larger multi bottles, we have decided to eliminate this cup moving forward. As we are working through our initiatives to reduce waste, we recognized our multi cups were wasteful and redundant for most people. We do, however, have glass measuring shot glasses available, which are reusable and can measure any kind of liquid from 5 milliliters up to 30 milliliters, as well as measure out in ounces, tablespoons and teaspoons. We hope that you understand why reducing this extra plastic use was important to us, and that you are still able to enjoy your liquid multi however you prefer!

How should I use this? Can I take it with drinks or food?

We suggest that everyone start with ½, or even ¼, the recommended dose to see how their body responds. You may see that you do better with a smaller dosage because our formula is potent! It can be taken on an empty stomach or with food, or mixed into your favorite cold beverage.

Can I give this multivitamin to children? What is the dosing?

Yes, children, ages two and up, can use our formula. However, before you give the multivitamin to your children, we highly recommend that you show our formula to your physician, pediatrician or healthcare professional to see if our formula is right for your child. Your healthcare professional knows your child’s health best, including what other supplements or prescriptions your child may be taking, as well as knowing if your child is facing any health challenges. We recommend that the child's physician, pediatrician or healthcare professional approve all new wellness supplements. Your healthcare professional can also assess an appropriate dosage for your child. Each child is unique and different, and we want to make sure that they receive the best care possible!

How can I travel with your vitamins?

We are currently working on a travel size which should be available soon. Meanwhile, many customers ration the appropriate amount of liquid they need for their trip and put it in a lunch box with an ice pack until they can refrigerate it when they arrive at their destination.

I’m not feeling a difference when taking this, why?

Many of our customers see immediate results or improvements. However, some of our customers don’t feel any difference at all. Many changes the multivitamin will have on you will be strictly internal and show results in bloodwork. Regardless, please reach out if you are not satisfied with the product.

Are the bottles BPA-free?

Yes, the brown and white bottles we use for our multis are BPA free.

Why is there no iron in the Liquid Multivitamin?

When formulating our liquid multivitamins, we wanted to make a multivitamin that had the best possible combination of micronutrients for optimal absorption. Since micronutrient competition is important to keep in mind when formulating the best liquid multivitamin, and iron can interfere with the body's absorption of other vitamins and minerals, we decided to not include iron in our liquid multivitamins. For those who would like to supplement with iron, we have a stand-alone Liquid Iron supplement in a delicious berry flavor!

Why is there no daily value for Vitamin K on the supplement fact panel?

"The preamble to the proposed rule noted that there are three general forms of vitamin K: Phylloquinone (vitamin K1), menaquinone (vitamin K2), and menadione (vitamin K3) (id.). For labeling purposes, there is no specific definition for vitamin K and the AI for vitamin K is based on the intake of phylloquinone, the major form of vitamin K in the diet. Thus, the final rule establishes, in § 101.9(c)(8)(iv), an RDI for vitamin K of 120 mcg based on the AI that pertains only to phylloquinone." The FDA determined to change this because they do not believe that studies on menaquinone provide sufficient evidence to suggest that menaquinones affect vitamin K absorption and utilization.
